CIP Executive Biographies
Barry Croft, President
REMT/P, CACE
Barry has been a Paramedic and active in EMS in Alberta for over 20 years. During this time, primarily with Edmonton EMS, he has been a Supervisor of Paramedics, a Training Officer, and Head of Public Safety and Education. He has been seen and heard on numerous local and national broadcasts as an advocate for Safety and Injury Prevention across Canada.
During his busy career Barry has been the Operations Manager of rural EMS services while still working with Edmonton EMS. He acquired his "Facilitator of Adult Education" background from the University of Alberta and attained his formal Incident Command Training from Vermilion Fire Fighting Academy. He has worked as an international Flight Medic, and is proud of his part in helping develop safety and treatment protocols for the NHL's Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club.
Barry oversees the daily operations of CIP and is essential to envisioning and shaping the future for CIP as it continues to evolve and grow as a leader in Industrial Emergency Medical Care.
Barry lives in Sherwood Park, Alberta with his wife and three sons. Both Barry and CIP are active in the community providing services for events such as Safe Grads and financial support to local community teams such as the Sherwood Park Crusaders Junior “A” Hockey Team.

Dr. Stan M. Kolber, Medical Director
MSc., MD., CCFP, LL.B., FCLM, FCCLM
Stan Kolber obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Philosophy in 1964. Dr.Kolber acquired his Masters of Science Degree in Psychology in 1967 and his Medical Degree in 1971. In 1984, Dr. Kolber was awarded a Law Degree. All of his degrees were obtained at the University of Alberta.
Dr. Kolber acquired his certification from the Canadian College of Family Physicians in 1975, his Fellowship in the American College of Legal Medicine in 1986, and his Fellowship in the Canadian College of Legal Medicine in 1987.
Dr. Kolber maintains a busy full time private practice and has several years' experience in Emergency Medicine. He has, since obtaining his Law degree, developed a special interest in Medical malpractice, patient's rights, peer review, and medical-legal issues. Dr. Kolber has been recognized on a number of occasions by the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen' s Bench of Alberta as an expert witness in General Medicine.
Dr. Kolber wrote a book titled, "A Doctor's Guide to Preventive Litigation, A Study of Canadian Medical and Dental Negligence" in 1985. In 1989, Dr. Kolber wrote a second book entitled, "Medical Malpractice in Canada - A Physician's Perspective."
Dr. Kolber has also written a number of articles which discuss patient's rights, peer review, legal liabilities of hospitals, and other legal issues.
Dr. Kolber has lectured on numerous occasions regarding medical liability of health care workers to various professional organizations. For approximately 15 years He has been the medical officer of many companies that provide paramedic and other safety services to the movie and industrial settings.
Sarah Stepney, Accounts Specialist
Sarah has been with CIP since the company was founded in 2005. She works very closely with the President and is responsible for all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Benefits. Sarah lives in Edmonton and enjoys reading, biking, downhill skiing, inline skating and traveling.
Tammy Hills, Corporate Representative
Tammy Hills is in charge of CIP Sales and Public Relations and is the face of CIP in Calgary. Tammy is often found in meetings with prospective and current clients in both Calgary and Edmonton and is involved with all Public Relations efforts.
Tammy is a registered EMT and has been involved in the EMS for 15 years, working urban and rural Alberta, as well as industrial settings. Tammy spent the majority of her EMS career with the City of Edmonton. She expanded her career in the health care industry by focusing on educating, consulting, managing and now sales and P.R. Tammy represents CIP both locally and internationally. Tammy is a vital component of CIP and enjoys working and living in Calgary. During her time off Tammy enjoys watching and playing hockey, wakeboarding, camping, and travelling. She looks forward to helping shape CIP’s future and continues to provide exceptional customer service for CIP.
Allysia Leddy, Corporate Representative
Allysia joined our sales team as one of our Corporate Representatives in Calgary in July of 2011.
Allysia has been working in the health care industry for the past 10 years. She has been a part of a management team within the health care industry for the last 5 years. Her career began in Calgary where she worked her way into management, consulting, and is now applying her knowledge and expertise to sales and marketing with CIP. Allysia is known for her outgoing, vibrant personality and for her ability to provide exceptional and knowledgeable customer service to our many clients.
Allysia enjoys working and living in Calgary. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, running, and traveling.
Brian Feist, Safety/Training Coordinator, MEM, EMT-P
Brian started his career as a Registered Nursing Assistant in Calgary and worked in both urban and rural hospitals. Brian began working for City of Edmonton as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1982. He completed his Paramedic training in 1986. During his 26 years with the City of Edmonton Brian worked as: an EMT, Dispatcher, Paramedic, Platoon Supervisor and Special Operations Superintendent in charge of specialized activities including the Tactical Paramedics and Champ car races. For the last 10 years Brian has been instructing First Aid and CPR training, EMRs, EMTs and Paramedics.
Brian has completed his CSO with Alberta Construction Safety Association and worked as a field safety officer and a senior safety member.
After leaving the City of Edmonton in 2007, he came to work for Canadian Industrial Paramedics and has been given the opportunity to see the Petroleum and Gas Industry from the Industrial side of Paramedicine. Brian’s newest challenge is that of Safety manager and Training Coordinator for CIP and the inauguration of a training division for the industrial sector.

Denise VanRuskenveld's (Dee) , Personnel Coordinator
Dee has worked casual for CIP since 2007 and started full time in 2010. Her career in EMS started in 1983 on Vancouver Island for the East Asiatic Company at a pulp mill at Gold River and a sawmill in Tahsis. She moved to Alberta in 1985 and received her Alberta training from AVC in 1989. Dee worked rural EMS in northern Alberta for 8 years, later becoming Training and Development Officer. In 1994 she received a diploma in Adult Education from the U of A and began teaching at the U of A for the Faculty of Medicine. She has been teaching CPR and First Aid since 1990. Dee left Capital Health Regional Patient Transport office after 5 years, in 2006. Dee lives in Edmonton with her husband Craig who is a paramedic in Edmonton. They raised 6 children and now have 4 grandchildren with many more expected. Dee and Craig enjoy motor cycles, road trips to Las Vegas and family time at the cabin.
Kelty, Equipment Coordinator
Kelty has been with CIP since June of 2010. She started as the Office Administrator but has since moved to the position of Equipment Coordinator. Kelty is responsible for all CIP stock. She fields all supply and equipment requests from our field staff along with the inventory and tracking. She works closely with the Fleet Manager to ensure all units are fully stocked and are readied for field staff to check through and take out to the remote locations.
Marcel Lavigne, Fleet Manger
Marcel is a licensed interprovincial automotive technician. He did his apprenticeship in British Columbia in 1983-1987 and completed his interprovincial certification. Marcel moved to Alberta in 1988 and worked in dealerships in the Calgary olds are a. He has 28 years in the trade, 22 with Chrysler Canada, and the last fifteen years working as the shop foreman and services manager. Marcel has specialized in diesel- gas engines, fuel systems, air conditioning, electrical diagnostics and repair. He has also specialized in truck chassis dynamics.
